Training Programs

Brownstone Security believes that training is a key element in providing quality service to our clients. A comprehensive training program has been developed to ensure that all our security officers are properly trained for their assignments.

Basic Security Officer Training (BSOT)

This 44 hour course is required of all officers and includes CPR, First Aid and AED Certification. Other subjects covered include customer service, fires and how to respond, management of aggressive behavior, bomb threats, emergency evacuation procedures, use of mace/pepper spray, report writing, communications, observation and a variety of other security related subjects.

Patrol Driver Training

This course provides advanced training for patrol drivers who drive motorized vehicles. It include training in defensive driving, tactical safety and care and maintenance of vehicles. It includes 8 hours of hands on driving time including a driving skills test.

Security Supervisor Level 1

This course provides advanced instruction for officers who will be in positions of supervisory authority. It includes instruction in leadership traits, supervising employees, discipline and its purpose, motivation, advanced report writing, basic investigations of incidents, client communication, conducting site inspections and a variety of other supervisor related topics.

Loss Prevention

This course provides instruction for Loss Prevention agents who will be assigned to on-site loss prevention duties. Areas of instruction include legal powers, civil liability, criminal liability, CCTV use and monitoring,communication, surveillance, elements of a theft, interviewing suspects, reports, court appearances, customer service and a variety of other loss prevention related subjects.
