Brownstone Security was originally founded as Fox Security in 1964 in Long Beach, CA. For 40 years Fox Security served Long Beach and the surrounding areas, providing uniformed security officers and patrol services. In 2004 Fox Security implemented an expansion plan that included the Las Vegas and San Diego markets, as well as adding additional services such as loss prevention and consulting.

In 2005 Fox Security changed its name to Brownstone Security to better represent the company in the multiple markets which it was serving. Brownstone Security had offices in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Ontario and San Diego, and expanded its services to include: uniformed officers, mobile patrol, security and risk management, video surveillance systems, remote video monitoring, virtual guard tours, loss prevention and plain clothes.

In 2006 Brownstone Security added an in-house training program that included formal training in Basic Security Officer Training (BSOT), patrol services, security supervisor I and loss prevention. Training programs are held at the Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices.

Currently, Brownstone Security continues to solidify itself as a leading provider of security services in Southern California and Nevada. With over 300 employees, Brownstone Security is able to provide services for every industry including retail establishments, distribution centers, gated communities, government facilities, and many more. Brownstone Security also plans to expand into Northern California and El Paso, TX.
